Our 4.5" x 6" concrete curbing has several features, advantages, benefits:

-Concrete edging immediately increases the "curb appeal" and potential value of your home.
-Provides a contour which highlights your landscape in a variety of unique custom colors, textures & patterns.
-Beautifies your yard, placing a picture perfect frame around your flower beds.
-Continuous concrete edging provides an extremely effective root barrier. It prevents the rock & mulch from washing out into the grass. It also stops "grass runners" from creeping in.
-It saves time edging, trimming & weeding.
-Concrete is strong, durable, environmentally friendly and long lasting. It will not rot, rust, separate, shatter, splinter, attract insects, etc.
-Our color is a powdered dye we measure in while mixing. Our color is solid throughout the curbing. It is not a liquid cover overlay that is poured on and will flake off.
-Design flexibility allows for straight lines, curves, turns and contours.
-Best of all we can install concrete edging at most homes within one day.
-4.5" x 6" means more concrete for better height and a stronger backbone.

Not all landscape curbing companies are the same! We guarantee that you will love our product and what it will do for your yard. We look forward to hearing from you. Beautiful Concrete Edging is Our Product. Service is Our Business. It is our small details that really make your landscape.

Curb Styles

Below are four different curb styles. They perform differently while providing you with different aesthetics.

Slant Style

The slant style became popular in the 90's because it can be stamped and textured or done in regular gray concrete as can the curb style. But, unlike the curb style, it has the unique ability to also hold in gardening materials because the back of the curb is higher than the front. The front side of the curb is generally set a ground level to accommodate lawn mower wheels. The slanted look shows off any texturing or stamping that may be applied.

6X4 Curb Style

The curb style is generally set at ground level for lawn mowing. It is very popular in commercial lawn settings because it handles larger mower wheels and has a more massive look. It can be installed as regular gray concrete or it can be stamped and textured. Because it is set at ground level it is not as easily seen from the street and therefore leaves a groomed look without seeing as much concrete edging.

Mower Style

This style is very popular because it is installed to both accommodate a lawn mower wheel and at the same time retain gardening materials because of its higher back side. It also has great curb appeal because it sets off the landscaping with a picture frame type of look.

6X6 Curb Style

This style can be used like the regular curb style or it can be used as a retainer. The 6X6 is sometimes the spec that is used by commercial architects and it is simply placed deeper in the ground. Other applications may include retention of gravel, gardening materials or other driveway or walkway situations.

Care

We are sure that you will be pleased with your new concrete edging. It will save you hours of edging and trimming time in addition to beautifying your yard. Following are some brief facts and instructions for the care and maintenance of your new concrete edging.

-During the dry season we ask that you water the curbing and underlying ground the next morning.
-Your new edging is a concrete product. Most concrete takes approximately 28 days to totally cure. During the two weeks following installation, be extra careful not to damage the curbing. Items such as rakes, shovels and other gardening tools should be used with caution.
-Keep children, adults, pets and vandals away from your curbing for at least the first 24 hours. It may feel hard to the touch, but it is still susceptible to damage during the first 24 hours.
-Sod laying, sprinkler work and other landscape work should be delayed for at least 48 hours after installation, and then done with care around the curbing.
-During the first 7 days keep lawn mowers off of your curbing. The wheels likely will not damage the edging, but metal corners on your lawn mower may scratch or damage during the curing period.
-If it begins to rain within the first 4-6 hours after installation, cover the curb with plastic. Make sure to remove it the next day.
-During the first 24 to 48 hours you should avoid direct sprinkler impact on the curbing. After 24 hours a mist would not create any damage, but a sprinkler within a couple of feet could cause some pitting in your new edging.
-Efflorescence can appear on curbing for a variety of reasons. This white powder substance occurs because of water and salts. As water evaporates off of the curbing sometimes the salty substance is left behind. It can come out of the ground or be a result of rain or sprinkler systems. The intensity varies depending on the volume and hardness of the water. If you water frequently, efflorescence may appear more readily. If you need to clean efflorescence, simply mix a 50/50 solution of vinegar and water and with light brushing it can be removed. You may have to do this more than once, but eventually the efflorescence should go away.
-Some fertilizers and chemicals will stain the curbing as they would any other concrete. You should alert those doing the fertilizing to avoid spraying their product on the curbing. Iron will especially discolor it, whether in granules or in spray form. If you feel the concrete has been sprayed, hose it down shortly after they have finished fertilizing.
-If your curbing has been colored and stamped, it has also been sealed. Color will eventually fade from ultraviolet light and UV rays. We encourage you to consider having it sealed every year to two years. We will return and do this for you if you wish for a nominal fee. Just call us and we will gladly return to help you keep your curbing looking like new.
